December Diary - Saturday 8th December

My favourite layout as it has one of my favourite pictures.

December Diary - Friday 7th December

What a lovely welcome home from work I received from the dog...oh and also my husband :)

December Diary

I am taking part in the December Diary challenge this year. Last year my book was A5 size but this year I am completing 12x12 layouts thanks to some cool paper bought for me by my sister from the States. I think it is going to be harder. I have been busy making crafts for our Christmas Fayre so I am already running behind, and I will not be completing the days in the correct order but what I do get done I will post here. I hope you like them

Merly Impressions Top Act

Thank you so much Merly Impressions, My August layout was chosen as a top act. I am really pleased :)

I Love...

Well time is flying past and thanks to Merly Impreessions the months just keep rolling round.

This months competition had the rule NO CARDSTOCK! which at first I found really hard. Every layout I have completed has had cardstock involved. I nearly did not enter this month as I simply could not get my head around the rule.

Whilst sifting through my paper stash I found some Bo Bunny paper which I was saving for a mini book. There was one piece which I loved and I thought was best used for a 12x12 layout rather than cutting it up. As the paper is called Crazy Love I started to look through photos of myself and Matt. This led me to create a layout all about my husband and our wedding

For our wedding I made all of our invites, order of service, menus and thank you cards. I used the left over ribbon and red beads in this layout which makes it extra special. The picture below was taken by our photographer

The picture of us in the heart pegs was taken in 2007. We used this picture inside the order of service. I also included a wedding picture and one from our honeymoon in Cuba at Club Tropicana. I had trouble trying to find the correct title to add to the page. In the end I used some blue cardstock letters which I used as stencils on some lovely heart paper.

I then wrote some of reasons why I love my husband

If you look closely you can see the red beads in the middle of the red flower and at the bottom right.

Thank you Merly Impressions for inspiring me to create a lovely layout.

My Scarf

Last month I attended a workshop teaching me how to crochet granny squares. I really enjoyed it and continued making them, watching them get neater and neater. I have crocheted them together to make a scarf. Really pleased with the result and received positive feedback.

Why Do I Scrapbook

Yet again it is time for the Merly Impressions challenge and I am rushing to finish this and post with minutes to spare.

So Why Do I scrapbook? There are many reasons but the top 4 are

But mainly because I enjoy it :)

Walkies

After looking through some old photos I decided to complete a page about Fern. I know I am a little behind with Project 12 and Week in the life but I fancied a change.

I have been visiting  Merly Impressions website again and I decided to have another go at their competition.

We had to choose a line from the box above (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) which gave us 3 elements to use on our 12×12 layout. I chose 3 from the top......layers, Lace and Pearls.

Firstly I chose my favourite picture of Fern and thought about the colours I would like to use.

I then went shopping and found this beautiful, brightly coloured lace. I used the layers of the paper, lace, flags, title and brads.  Finally I used the pearls to show the flight path of the bee.

A little description of the photo and my page was finished.

I would like to say it was that simple but it never is. I keep changing my mind and changing the design so it always takes me days to finally complete the page, but I am so pleased with the outcome :)

Week In The Life

Monday

Thanks to Ali Edwards I decided to have a go at completing the week in the life project. I used a design from Pagemaps and added my take to it. Here is Mondays page completed

I'm annoyed that the pictures are not straight on the econd page...but I am still learning. Pleased with the flowers down each side.

Project 12

April

Project 12 is a project that myself, my sister and friend are completing. The idea came from Ali Edwards where each month we record our activities and experiences. I only started this year and I am really enjoying it.

April was a busy month but I managed to find 5 pictures which told the whole story.

Hope and Dream

Although I am new to scrapbooking, thanks to my Sister Tracey I have observed from afar for a long time. I love looking at other peoples ideas and especially looking at the photos, although my husband think I am nosey!

After browsing the Merly Impressions website I noticed a challenge that got me thinking. I am in a similar situation to Emilie. I have no children, so once I have finished scrapping about my dog and childhood memories, what else should I scrap about? Emilie has asked us to create something that tells a story about ourselves and this is what I have created.

Recently I have been thinking about my future and what I hope to achieve. I love going to the seaside. Even if it is a day visit, the sea air and walking on the sand is so relaxing. The thought of having a seaside escape has been in my mind for a while and the more I think about it the more excited I have become. I do not want to go abroad as I like the idea of disappearing at the drop of a hat. This is what myself and my husband are working towards and I am going to enjoy visiting lots of places to find the right property.

I apologise for the shadows in the photos. I took the pictures this evening, but I will upload some better pictures soon x

Button Picture

In March I met up with my sister to make a picture in memory of my Mum and Gran. We used their collection of button to make a picture which will always be treasured.

New to blogging

Welcome to my first ever blog.
I have created this to enter a competition, but I hope to keep the site up to date.
Please stay with me whilst I am learning.
